- מַרְתּוֹקָאm. (רתק) 1) (knuckles, fist. Targ. Y. Ex. 21:18. 2) a blow with the fist. Y.M. Kat. III, 83b (ed. Krot. מַרְתֵּיקָא); Y.Snh.VII, 25b top. 3) knocker at the door. Ib.d top (read:) מאן דעליל יהיב ליה חד במרתזקה whoever entered (the bath-house) struck him with the knocker, v. נְתִיקָה ch.V. מַרְתֵּק.
